In 2021, For seminars, conferences, international congresses, are you going to travel to assist or just assist by videoconference?
There are advantages and disadvantages to attending conferences? Attending videoconferences also have advantages and disadvantages? What are you going to do in 2021? What to choose ? Why ?
Dear Ahmed Kettab for 2021 I personally do not plan to attend ANY face-to-face conference, not national and not international. In these times of increasing coronavirus infection counts I gladly refrain from international conferences, long-distance flights and gala dinners. I think we should not shed a tear over all this and be happy when we don't get infected with COVID-19. I probably will not participate in videoconferences either because they make me tired.

I like attending a conference. Professor KETTAB may GOD listen to you to suppress the coronavirus. for this we will be able to attend the conference in 2021.
I think videoconference is OK for at least next year. It will be safer for each one.
Conferences are the platforms, where we will get opportunity to interact with many new researchers in addition to presentation of our own work. Video conferencing won't provide that much personal interaction, so I don't like. However seeing the second peak of coronavirus, I think 2021 is going to be only video conferencing. Finger crossed?
Personally, I like to attend face-to-face. The objective of the seminars is to get to know each other and have contacts . Currently with the covid 19, I think that the health measures are the most important and therefore 2021 we will have a lotof video conferences unfortunately.
IEEE the biggest publisher of Electrical engineering is organising video conference.

Dear Ahmed Kettab It will all depend on the status of Covid-19 during 2021. In absence of any efficacious solution to this pandemic and sustained virulence of SARS-CoV-2, I will continue to attend seminars, symposia, and the like through videoconferencing during 2021 too.

Videoconferencing remains the best alternative until Covid-19 pandemic ends
Videoconferencing has gained more relevance recently due to Covid-19 outbreak
videoconferences are the only alternatives ... until the end of the coronavirus
I will use only VTC because the pandemic of COVID'19 will continue in 2021 as well.
Video conferences are generally preferred during the pandemic period.I believe physical attendence is nice if we take precautions.
Nothing wrong with video conferences, avoid the expense of travelling and the virus as well.
Until over on of covid saga, virtual platform will be played a vital role in this regard.
Wish it could be avaible by video conferences because no body will spend much money to attend physically.
I prefer online meetings and video conferences as it saves time and money..
Dear Ahmed Kettab unfortunately I expect that we can forget about face-to-face conferences even for the rest of the year 2021. Let's see how the situation looks in 2022. For this year, even large conferences such as the annual meetings of the American Chemical Society (ACS) will be held as videoconferences.

I have been invited to a couple of conferences. The ones scheduled for the first half of the year will all be virtual, so I will do the virtual- or video-conferencing. Those that are scheduled for the second half of the year are understandably scheduled in the hope that the whole ruckus about COVID-19 would die down by then, and have proposed either of the two. I will go with the lesser of the two evils at the time. No one would thrust a finger into the fire when it is sure to burn. Just trying to play smart.
I'm afraid that 2021 is again a bad year for face-to-face conferences. I have not yet made any travel plans. One of my big favorites, the "13th Australasian Organometallics Meeting" (OZOM13, planned for July 2021 in Cairns, Australia) has already been cancelled. These meetings normally have ca. 100+ participants. Cited below is the website of the last OZOM meeting in 2019.

In our field of research, chemistry, one of the most popular big conferences worldwide is the Pacifichem. Pacifichem Meetings take place only every 5 years at Honolulu, Hawaii, and each time they attract ca. 20,000+ participants. The last conference in this series was scheduled for December 2020, but had to be postponed until December 2021. I'm already beginning to wonder if this one will take place as planned....

In organization of my Faculty, on behalf of the Association of Croatian Civil Engineering Faculties, from 23 to 24 September 2021, the eighth conference of young researchers in the field of civil engineering and related engineering sciences Common Foundations 2021 will have an online format (last year we cancelled our meeting).
It’s absolutely an efficient way for attending in a conference. Attending in authenticate conferences is a useful way for increasing the number of citations.
