I need some help regarding importing the CST field data to ASTRA. With the help of a colleague, I got a matlab script to convert the CST data into ASTRA field plots. That the program work very well for the TM010 mode.
Now I want to import a dipole field (basically a Transverse deflecting cavity), the program work well, but the Bx plot of ASTRA (fieldplot) shows only positive sign (as shown in attached file) which is different form Hx plot in CST (has both + and - sign like pi mode).
The effect of same is that the beam is offset by a large amount.
I do not understand what is the problem, because ASTRA manual, suggest to import the dipole field also as same manner, only the file has to be saved with a name starting with "Dx_3D....".
Can anyone help me?
Dealing with data need for a data base system build in. I do not know actually how your system work, in Matlab there is a save and load by work space and in C language there is a statements for file read and write.
