Dear all. Does anyone have any information about the impacts of extreme weather events on hop diseases and pests? We reviewed the possible impacts of weather extremes on pests (weeds, insect pests and plant pathogens) of hop by analyzing scientific literature published since 1945, concerning the knowledge about the influences of extreme weather on incidence of these pests. Our literature survey started on February 2013 and is continued monthly. In the databases “Web of Science” and “Scopus” the mode “Advanced Research” was used and a combination of “extreme weather terms + plant terms + plant pest terms” was entered. We have found anything until today. Thus projections of future impacts of extreme weather on plant pests and yields cannot be made concerning pest and diseases of hop.

Dear Arvind, thank you for this very interesting paper about hop pests and diseases and plant protection measures, including IPM. But, sorry, it is not about the impacts of extreme weather events like drought, heat, hail, storm, heavy down pours, black frost, early frost, late frost on all these pests and diseases of hop and the impacts of these extreme weather events on the plant protection (including) IPM or biological plant protection or chemical plant protection).
