I'm presently working on starch- natural fibre composites that exhibit high level of hydrophilicity, so instead of adding routine chemicals to increase the hydrophobicity, is their any natural supplements that can help? or any cost effective less toxic chemical that can act well on this character can also be suggested.

If ethyl ether is partially obtained by hydroxyl groups, then starch will be more hydrophobic.
You can try for some formulation with surfactant / liposomes or even biological membranes.

I suggested you the use of sweet almond rather than bitter one, which is toxic.
Its oil is also believed to be hydrophobic and non-toxic.
Other options include the use of
i) green surfactant molecule
ii) palmitic acid
