hello, am trying to model a braced frame which has columns and beams of shell elements(s4R) and the brace as a truss element(T3D2), how can i connect them with a pinned condition at the end of the brace?
Look at the attached Abaqus input file for an example of a connection between a shell and a truss element.

one way to do that isto use a small truss element at the end of brace and prescribe a very small cross section area and low values of material properties. these will ensure the end conditions as pin end for the brace.

Hello sir. I have seen the video but they have made truss element in parts module but i have to make truss element in instance module. So, the connection between the truss(i.e. brace) and pinned connection is not working. How to solve this issue?

Hello sir, I am trying to connect the truss to small shell element. I have tried link under MPC constraint to connect them but my model is not working for finer meshing. What sort of constraint should i use for this connection part.
