This would be similar to connecting a synchronized generator to the mains. You will be feeding power to the mains when your consumption is less than the solar power produced and obtaining power from the mains when your consumption exceeds the solar power produced.
Such a system is technically feasible but not desirable because it would not benefit the solar system owner. In fact, the owner may be adversely affected because electricity companies would not allow interconnection without legal permission. So the owner may be taken to courts or disconnected from utility power or penalized. There is paperwork involved in permitted interconnection.
The system you propose is totally feasible and it will work technically without any problem.
In fact, the use of the netmeter depends on the regulations of the country or region that the system is installed in, and has nothing to do with the technical aspects of the system.
I strongly recommend to check the existing regulations, because as Hassan Hameed has mentioned, in some situations, this will not be desirable for the owner.
