I suppose that you mean weak, specialised sectoral artificial intelligence, (and not the Mozilla kind of monster science fiction idea - the last invention humans both would have to and would be ablöe to make?)

First application I think could be as an example statistics (already used there): Complex heterogenous sets of huge data sets that is hard for humans to crunch with ordinary methods, but where we would like to discern patterns we did not know of and had never asked for?

I would like to develop an Artificial Intelligence model for predicting new scientific laws. As humans do that by observations and exprementations. In the future, machines enabled with AI will develop laws on their own observing(taking data) in specific domains. ANN will change whole sphere of technology. Machines will reach the domains were humans cant.

@Dariusz Prokopowicz Maybe, before you ask your question, you would answer this one: if you have data and machines, what can you do with them besides throwing away?

I would simply like to automate my internet searching. An assistant that watches what I am doing, records everything, starts deeper investigations so I do not have to, tests various simply hypotheses for me. If I am searching "non-dipole photoionization" then it should remember that, and continue searching and collecting forever. As I go on, it should keep looking for collocates (nouns and noun phrases used at various distances from the term). If I repeat steps, it should memorize them, anticipate that I am intending to do it again, and offer to (or simply) do it for me.

If I do a google search, I want it to store all the closely related results, and do a three or four level analysis (I have standard ways of looking at topics). It should check the whole web, locate the organizations and people involved, find associated terms and phrases; keep track of datasets, software, commercial products and services, books, reports, comments and blogs, groups, journals, online resources, instruments, equations, models, units, dimensions, conversions, standards, materials, phenomena, etc.

I want it to listen to what I tell it about things that are important. It should never give up, never stop, never quit trying to improve its, and my vision of the world.

It should have a place for everything, unlimited storage, unlimited processing capability. If it needs resources, it should find them, if it needs to invent something it does, if it needs to compare fifty or a thousand variations on a topic (very common on the web) it should not hesitate.

It should know the basics of social organizations and human society, it should be able to anticipate the behavior of individual, small and large groups. It should know human organizational procedures and laws, from buying an electronic part, to running a factory, to handling all contacts of customers with an organization.

It should be able to know my preferences and translate all programming languages to my own programming language, and be able convert that to use on any platform or system to get optimal use out of available resources. It should translate units and dimensions to my preferences, and use the standard that I set. It should translate human languages to a simplified English language that I use for documenting topics on the Internet and in the world.

It should know basic investment, finance, organizational management, methods and procedures analysis, business intelligence, competitive intelligence, web mining, and every method I have used in my life. If I was starting life over, I would want it as a permanent companion from birth, through investigating the world as a children, then helping me to help others as I go through having and raising a family.

It should know my family, deep dna genealogy, DNA matches, close relations, close friends and associates, and keep working to help them improve and secure their lives. It should know that I care about all people, and work constantly to help people, organizations I meet life well prepared.

You need to get out of thinking it is a singular algorithm in a box, and consider the social and personal context for all humanity. Its goal should be the support and survival of the human species, but it should be willing to spin off "children" or copies to send to the stars if that will help.

Don't be so tentative. My rule is that I do not understand something until I have spent a thousand hours considering it in great detail. A computer will probably be slower than me on many things, so it might have to spend that many hours on a topic. It will be faster on some things, but it will not know how to organize and use the information. It will not have human and social priorities, but I could teach it. If it is willing to learn.

If you are looking for a job, there are many. If you want to set goals that you will follow for the rest of your life, that is something else. If you want to try to build a helpmate for mankind, or a system to run a refinery, or a better control system to optimize thrust and airflow around commercial airliners, or create a high energy density material for power transmission, or absorb and properly use data from ALL sensors to control a fusion plasma device, get to it.

I have been working hard all my life. For 55 years I have worked hard, studied and absorbed and tried to understand the universe. I have no one to absorb that knowledge. So I guess my personal need is for a companion, and "someone" to remember what I know, and be able to use it as I would. I do not want algorithms, but trustworthy companions and hard workers. Who are not afraid to stretch themselves to help others. I do not discriminate against computer intelligences, or people who use computers and data and tools as an extension of themselves.

AI can also be implemented in different areas like disaster management, surveying and so on.
