if the aspect ratio (length/diameter) of natural fiber is too small, and the results obtained is just an increment of 5%, what is the length possible? This is according to the aspect ratio of 40%, and the results obtained with the addition of fiber only have minimal increment compare to the control concrete.
natural fibers like jute, ramie sisal are very flexible and balling of fiber is a major issue, many years ago I worked on ramie and jute fibers jute was better but ramie was big problem because its diameter is too low compare to jute. something like 1 cm long has solved the problem. In summary, it depends on the type of natural fiber, I think with jute or bamboo, you can use up to 15 mm long whereas sisal, ramie 8 to 10 mm will give better result

Never go for a random fibre length in any composite fabrication. That's absolutely ridiculous. For natural fibres, perform a interfacial adhesion strength test between the fibre and matrix. And evaluate the tensile strength : find out the appropriate length which gives good tensile strength. Also perform a neat polymer tensile strength. And do the fabrication based upon the fibre volume fraction and obtain Good results.
