First you will have to figure out what question you want to answer.
If you seek to answer the question of how to increase penetration of offshore wind turbines, you could do a comparative study between offshore wind turbines and other renewable energy sources, W/R to economy, location, grid state and deployment (for you, probably in an electrical engineering context).
If you are addressing issues with renewable (and fluctuating/intermittent) generation as a whole, you would have to look for approaches for smoothing generation profile, power export and demand-side management.
Anders has given an excellent solution to your problem but first try to see how much work has already been done in this field and whether there is a chance for you to make a contribution in this field or not. As far as grid integrated solutions to renewable energy resources are concerned, my personal opinion is that this field has become quite saturated. Try to look into islanded conditions of these off-shore wind turbines.
