Has anyone come across such phenomena in which sea water, when kept in standstill in a vertical vessel or pipe, "settles" after some time so that we get lesser salinity water at top and higher salinity water at bottom?
If you store sea water in a vertical pipe, there will be stratification of salinity. And you'll encounter with lower salinity (water of lower specific gravity) at upper and increasing salinity (water of increasing sp. gravity) at lower layers.
I did this trial and have generated some data. However, the data is not consistent between trials. I need some help in this and if its okay with you, I could share the data if you give me your email ID.
