I am looking to design an UWB antenna operating between 6GHz and 8.5GHz. The antenna should have omnidirectional radiaton patterns and using microstrip technology.

As you mentioned, you are looking to design an antenna for the ranges 6.5GHz to 8GHz.However, this range is not considered for UWB applications. It is only wideband.
The 6.5 GHz to 8 GHz range is not a UWB range. For UWB application you should target range between 3 GHz to 12 GHz with band notching at WLAN bands.

Consider planar monopole antennas.
Means planar antennas with partial ground.
Please check your band for proper application.
