What are your recipes to strike a balance so as not to lead to the erosion of values that should underlie our scientific/academic world.

Dear Marta,
All we know that the academic culture is drifting towards corporate culture. I think the best way to strike the balance is to focus on core values and beliefs, and encourage teachers and students to be committed to these values.
