Can you write what kind of role does media education have in your country? And more specific - on your universities? Maybe it doesn't have a role at all?
Thanks for all your answer. Most of you write about journalists education. But I think, similarly as Slavoljub Hilčenko and Md. Hasanuzzaman that media education, media literacy is important for all people, in all age - it is no the case of teaching journalists, but to equip all people with the necessary skills.
In Pakistan, media is working freely and independently. In case of electronic media there are a number of channels are working including news, sports and entertainment channels. It is the responsibility of media to highlight those issues which are good for the public and discourage unethical factors of the society. Sometimes media besides spreading the root causes of any issue, contributes to multiply wordings over some issue and crises. Media should be very sensitive while presenting its country towards the world. Our media tells the world what exactly we are, what are our norms, values and culture. Being an Islamic country, our media should represent us in a good way towards the world.
Faisal thanks. But what interesting me more is if there is any media education in your schools, universities that help people be more aware how to search for worth informatorom, resources, use information properly and so on... Could you write sth about it?
It's a very sad story, I could again is told. No effect of it !!!
For Traditional school in Serbia are needed radical, painful and system cuts that are related to its educational programs (curricula’s), approaches to the work (educational technology-methodology of work) and even the institutional-formal structure (but and non-formal education). In the last 10 years, the wrong moves from educational authorities made of the teachers ''persona non grata'', while on the other hand, students and parents were given all the possible rights. In addition, ICT made such changes in the classroom, where the average teacher is not up for, and much less qualified, to answer for requirements of the time and the needs of new generations. (''Keeping the classical class in such an environment is a nightmare for most of them''). Even If there are such, THEY DO NOT OFFER WELL DESIGNED E-CONTENT! The fact that nearly two decades was delayed the introduction of the subject Informatics and computers as a compulsory subject in primary schools in comparison to the countries in which pre-schoolers learn the basics of programming is devastating. Changes imposed at school of tomorrow (global and local) will go to all of the above directions. Serbia will regard to this, ''as usual catch the last train''.
Slavoljub Hilčenko I can see that you are very frustreted abut it. So tell me, are there any educators, non-formal groups that try to change this situation? Propably there are some programs, NGOs which goal is to change reality?

Muhammad Faheem Jan I understand. But as I wrote in replay to Faisal, I am more interesting - if there is any media education in your schools, universities that help people be more aware how to search for worth information, resources, use information properly and so on...
Off course. Why not. In my country Bangladesh almost all universities their are so many subjects and courses about media. Such as my university Begum Rokeya University University, Rangpur there is a department of mass communication and journalism'. In this course all kinds of use of media are taught to the students. Basically it is journalism department. Without these department. Amazingly Though media is so important for education so not only in this department but also in other departments media education are taught. Like in my department of disaster management I have already finished several courses like fundamental of computers, Disaster Informaton and communication in disaster management etc. Basically, in these course all kind of media and their communication strategy and effectiveness, networking, Mass media communication are discussed. Without this my university has Computer science and engineering department where networking, modern technology are discussed . So i can say in Bangladesh almost every university has media education.
In the United States, electronic and print media both play an effective riole in keeping political and other powerful agents honest by performing function of a watchdog. University and other institutional culture in higher education sector is also sensitive about policies and procedures due to fear of negative media publicity.
I know that in many European countries journalists are trained before working for a TV station or a newspaper. In N. America, very few are educated, there is no educational requirement for a media job (apart from finishing high school).

I think that we can assume, that with the rapid development of new forms of communication, the urgent problem is to equip people with appropriate skills that will allow them to understand the modern media, the way of creating and distributing information. In a word, it is necessary to equip contemporary media users with appropriate competences, just as it was at the beginning of the 19th century, when literacy skills were key to active use of citizenship. Today, media competences are also necessary to be an aware, active participant in social and political life.
Thank you very much for asking this very important question.
Thank you very much for making very important inquiries on the Research Gate portal and inspiring important discussions on particularly important issues.
In my opinion, it is good that there was a discussion in the question of this query.
This is a very interesting and scientifically important topic.
Question:
Media education in your country
this is a very important issue that requires scientific research.
It mainly concerns such fields of study as media studies, journalism, new media on the Internet, security of information transfer on the Internet, internet marketing, new media including social media portals, information processing in Big Data database systems, etc.
In my country, the development of services based on teleinformatics and new media is considered an important factor in the development of a modern knowledge-based economy. In addition, the development of services based on teleinformatics and new media is also considered one of the main determinants of the current fourth technological revolution referred to as Industry 4.0.
