I am conducting a UK market research for a Dutch IT company. I would like to see the prospect of it in the UK market, by getting opinions from facilities management of organizations, of whether it would be of interest in their company to implement such a software. It resolves issues such as "which workplace is free?" and "where is my colleague?". What would be the best, most efficient way to contact such companies for their opinions?
Most large organisations with hot desking facilities would have a software to check and locate a free desk. At universities for instance, most IT labs display number of free desks, you can log in anywhere and locate those. However, Where is my colleague? is a little creepy, is this a tracking system? I'd see major issues possibly arising from this.
Fatema Kawaf exactly, it is the software you mention of schools and companies having desktops that tell us whether a desk is occupied or not. These schools and companies are able to do that because they purchase a software like the one I am researching for. It is not a security issue, people who have access to it are members and users of the same organization, and to top it off it is ISO-certified. No, it is a check-in check-out system, where people sign in using their credentials onto their desktop to let the system know who is there.
