I would like to know why the Composition by mol% give better correlation with STO density instead of wt%?

Hi i made a correlation study between STO density and Composition of one of hydrocarbons , once by mole percent and another by wt%, it was expected that wt% composition will give better correlation as it more describes the density, however we got the opposite , where mol% showed better relation with STO density, i have an explanation for that but I am not sure about it and i need a scientific explanation to support my study
