My host material is TiO2. I want to dope 4 wt% of Cu from CuCl2 salt. How I will take the wt% measurement of Cu.? Will it be measured according to weight of TiO2 or only weight of Ti ? And will Cu substitute the Ti ions or may be O atoms as well ?
The calculated amount of copper that would need to be added for a 4% doping concentration in TiO2 nanocrystals is 0.04 grams of copper for every 1 gram of TiO2 nanocrystals.
First, you need to determine the percentage of copper and titanium in the precursors, and then take a ratio of 4% for synthesis. You can plan such a ratio, but there is no guarantee in obtaining it. Therefore, you will have to take such a ratio, which will be obtained in the process of synthesis after analysis.
