I want to test reconstruction algorithms in ECT. I need data for true objects and measured data using 8 electrode ECT sensor. Is there a model which I can use to regenerate data for simulating these algorithms?
Ray tracing based on Haselgrove equations in 2D or 3D. If you have an IDL licence I believe there is code available on the net.
I was part of a group that designed a satellite to track the position of aircraft using automatic dependent surveillance broadcast signals. We were the first to detect these signals above commercial flight level and designed a satellite. While awaiting launch I realized that multiple transmitting aircraft to a satellite receiver (or constellation) would make a good apparatus for tomographic reconstruction of the electron density through which the signals have passed.
At that time the satellite was not launched and a launch date was not established so to show that these signals are feasible for not only air traffic safety, but science as well I used ray-tracing through an input electron density profile to model the projections expected to be received by the satellite receiver. I used this data as input to the Algebraic Reconstruction Technique (ART) with reasonable results.
Perhaps I can send you some of the processed ray data (projection value and ray endpoints assuming straight line approximation) so that you can feed that into your algorithm. This may be beneficial to us both. We can compared the reconstructions obtained from each reconstruction as well as the known input electron density profile that I created (truth data).
