The hip function scores on PubMed seem to pertain specifically to arthroplasty, but they rely on measures that should be reliably carried over to post-groin dissection hip function as well. Has anyone used a specific score for this?
I have reliably used the Oxford Hip Score for functional recordings post Hip Arthroplasty. I have no experience concerning its use post groin dissection but I don't see why should not it do since it focuses on post surgery functionality assessment. Another alternative could be the Harris Hip Score. This could prove to be even more sensitive since it uses a range of 0-100 instead of 0-48 that the Oxford Hip Score does.
Many thanks indeed! Looking through the PubMed literature, there has been discussion about whether or not the Harris Score is properly validated. The Oxford score would seem to be a reasonably good one to use. I would be interested to hear if anyone has any opinions on this.
