I have been trying to prepare cobalt II complexes of benzoylthiourea. I need a suitable procedure to do that. Could anyone help, pleas? I am using Cobalt II chloride. 6H2O metal salt for the reaction.
According to a more recent reference (see below), such complexes can be easily prepared by treatment of CoCl2x6H2O with the benzoylthiourea ligands (1:2 or 1:3 molar ratio) in ethanol solution in the presence of triethylamine. When the reactions are carried out in air, oxidation to the corresponding cobalt(III) complexes can easily take place.
