I have an unknown sample, where isophthalic or terephthalic acid could be there, how I can identify the exact acid ? There is also possibility of the presence of some other diacid, what are the exact methods to identify the sample?
unknown sample can be identified taking m.p. of solid.
1) isophthalic Melting point:343 oC
2) terephthalic acid Melting point: 207 oC
