I have a survey where I collected demographics of respondents and now I need to study the impact of those factors on the answers of the questions:
such as: influence of Gender on choosing correct/wrong answer on a survey question
or influence of age on the responses of the questionnaire?
I used Chi Square test as my sample is around 400.
is this right or should I use another test ? and how to interpret the p-value? SHould I do a descriptive table for the variable against the question to know which is high and which is low ?
as example: male correct/wrong answers to Q2 is statistically different from female correct/wrong answers to Q2.
Use of Chi-square test is right. Plz tell me your hypothesis do that i help you to interpretation of p value.

I want to identify the influence of demographics on a survey capturing knowledge of students on academic dishonesty.
You can use Chi-square to identify if there is any "association" between the two. The p-value will indicate if this is significant or not, that's to say "if there is a significant relationship or not" but it doesn't tell you the effect size of it (you can use Cramer’s V to identify it).
After doing that, do mention the descriptive results of cross-tabulation to allow the reader to understand which side chose option A or B.
