I have a problem in the equipment Cary Eclipse Agilent fluorescence spectrophotometer model G9800A.
when starting the instrument a error message appear on the screen,the message is:''Error 9460 : current signal is over-range.reduce the PMT-voltage in stup'', I reduced the voltage PMT in stup but the message revaind.
I'm asking for diagnostic of this problem and are there any solutions of this problem.

When do you see the error? During instrument start-up, or during the experiment?
Make sure the slits or shutters are closed- this avoids light from the lamp or other sources aren't overloading the photomultiplier tube. Close the top of the spectrometer so no light comes there. If you still see this error with no light hitting the PMT, make sure the system is assembled correctly, otherwise you may have a problem with a power supply or PMT. But first, make sure there are no light leaks to the system!
