Dear Researchers, I have a doubt that if someone have developed marker for disease resistant in hybrids of tomato. Is that useful or can be used for other hybrids of tomato?
Note that the marker developed for tomato hybrids parents are different than the marker gonna be used for hybrids of tomato...
Yes u can use the markers and screen for your material. From your question, I understood that you also gonna to screen for the same trait of interest.

Yes or no.
If the marker is a co-dominant marker on parents of previous hybrids, you need test the marker on your parents first. If it is still a co-dominant marker on your parents, you can use it. If it is not, you cannot.
If the marker is designed from the gene related to the disease resistance (if the marker is positive, the resistant gene is there; if not, the gene is not there), you can use the marker to track the gene.

Once a marker is identified which is linked to a trait and it is in linkage disequilibrium with the trait, it can be used to identify that trait in other genotypes of same species if the marker is crop specific.
