Overall, the millennials may be considered as persons aged between 15 & 40 years old. In other words, this is the generation which came after our generation & will take over the responsibility from us "the senior generation" very soon.
Of course, there are differences between generations with regard to attitudes, ethics, relationships, loyalty…etc.
As a recent retired person "who moved to part time work temporarily" , a big question (similar to yours) came to my mind with regard to the effectiveness of the young generation in shouldering the huge duties that we are leaving for them. Are they trustworthy or not?
I shall write my anticipation as a hint. There are enemies who would like to see our universities turning into high schools & getting rid of the experienced old staff, as early as possible, can help in arriving at that goal. The enemies are predicted to win the game, unfortunately.
As a millennial I wish to first say that every generation has been subject to slander from the generation above. We are the product of our environment, those older made this world that is currently in pieces, yet they judge us for their influence. They literally raised us and created our environment.
I have worked harder than anyone before me in my family, have got myself in to chronic debt for qualifications and still can't afford a home.
Perhaps our attitudes are direct reflections at the Baby Boomers and Generation X screwing up the world ;)
I think it is a matter of perspective, good or bad, the millenials are a generation that is disorganized, by that, is that their values or what they value is not in a hierachical order, but on the same measure. While other generations were educated to ponder their actions to have a future, the millenials are living in the present, with no plans ahead but what life gives. I saw a change in the millenial perspective when Mexico's earthquake happened. The millenials were working together and facing such a catastrophe to save lives and realize that none of us are free from what life is about: hard work and team effort. Perhaps millenials doesn't have any inspiration to make their lives worth if they learn to think and dare to make a change.
