I came across the Gold Telluride (AuTe) material, does it support increase in sensitivity for bio sensing application?

Can anyone help me out in knowing the use of "Gold Telluride" for biosensors ? or any other alloy, metal which i can use apart from gold and silver to increase the sensitivity and reduce the footprint ?
