this is the photograph of the model. the faces for inlet and outlet aren't there. even after creating 'surfaces' over there, these surfaces don't show up in setup so i am unable to give inlet and outlet entry points. as you can see in the photos, the box is hollow and near the entry points, the surfaces have been given by manually adding them. i need help in determining how to add faces on the ends for inlet and outlet. and how to make the fluids flow through the small slit in between.
I had similar problem, usually it's the mesh quality. try uniform mesh ...it may work
As I see you are losing some surfaces during meshing process. Its preferable (if possible) to draw the geometry using software facilities. If you imported the geometry as a CAD file, you will loss some geometry identities such surfaces or even subdomain. I think there is an option in ANSYS software to fix such a problem. I don't exactly the name of the option but something like regenerate the geometry. I hope this will help
