I am growing biofilms in 96 well plates. Currently, I'm using pipette tips to scrape the films, and I then aspirate, vortex, and culture to measure CFUs. I'd like some easier and more uniform way to collect samples from my wells. Are there special scrapers to handle this? Even better would be a plate or coating that is specialized for this in some way. Perhaps a coating that easily releases from the well surface, or some kind of insert that can be released.

Yes of course!!! After we was from the wells the non-attached cells by tri-times washing with ringer solution we add the same volume of ringer solution. Then we use ultrasonic bath to de-attach the cells from the surface. But you have to be carefful which is the highes power that you can use. If it is very strong you can use only for 1 min. We have one very weak and we use for 5 min. Howerver, in this way you de-attach the biofilm cells from whole plate! Thus we can do a lot of paralel samples since de-attahement step is very quick.
