My thesis focusses on the role that local youth work/youth development work/targeted youth support has in strengthening protective factors towards the positive development of vulnerable young people between 10 and 27 years.
In the Netherlands youth work is a social work field for young people at risk and part of the public (youth and social cohesion) policy and its local administration. it works either for individual young people or in groups, on the streets or within the youth centres. Always in primary prevention. I want to discover to what extent youth workers use the protective factors approach to work towards positive development of those vulnerable young people. There is hardly any studies from the Netherlands. Anyone of who could provide me key authors or publications from other countries in the 'high income' category?
There are journals specialising in meta-analysis. For exaample, the International Journal of Management Review is one such journal. Perhaps similar disciplines might have a similar journal. But I sugest that it might be a good idea to consult it since management as a discipline cuts across psychology, sociology and economics.

I dont think there are many meta-analysis on youth work to be begin with, so I am afraid not on the topic you want either. However I did come across some interesting publications on the webs:

I think Tijne is absolutely right. There is not much metanalysis in the youth field which would meet exactly your question. Have a look into the literature on empowerment and on resilience.

It is indeed a real complicated issue. the research mapping of the Irish in 2013 is the most accurate still. My focus should be on the role of youth work. Found quite a lot on resilience indeed, but then again not in connection with youth work. Positive youth development approaches yes, mentoring yes (but this is a different approach as well). But then again; youth work? No... after school programmes a little, social services a little.... Google Scholar helps and some key authors Ungar, Lerner, Catalano e.g.... but it is all just aside the framework. I think I could come to my conclusion: youth work needs theory driven approaches as they are not very available at the moment.
