I have used two software programs such as Fullprof and X'pert Highscore. Data collected from both software programme displays different lattice parameters.in such situations, which data is acceptable.
Both have pros and cons. Fullprof has much more customization of refinement, but it's hard to use. HighScore is easier to use, but lack in some functionalities. What I do about refinement is that each software has something useful to me, like EXPO2014, QUALX, GSAS-II. To make refinements, I use GSAS-II, which is less complicated than Fullprof.
But I have a question about what you reported. "Data collected from both softwares displays different lattice parameters". Could you explain this better?
Feel free to reply if you need help about this topic.
First of all, the refined lattice parameters should be the same within uncertainty levels, no mater which soft are you using. Double check if parameters like SyCos (sample displacement) are taken into account in both refinements. Check if exact wavelengths are introduced, etc.
Both softwares are good, you can choose the one you feel best with. Fullprof is sometimes complicated but it works very well. However, independently of the program you used, you should determine the same lattice parameters. If not so, there could be some parameters affecting them, differently calculated in the softwares, such as zero or displacement errors, that influence the peak positions and consequently the lattice parameters
