A comparative study on chronic administration of Go Ghrita (cow ghee) and Avika Ghrita (ewe ghee) in albino rats, Dipali J et al Ayu. 2012 Jul-Sep; 33(3): 435–440. doi: 10.4103/0974-8520.108862
Thank U Sir
The dose of Ghrita and medicated Ghrita differ. (Like ahar and aushadha matra). It also differs if it is taken as a single drug or as a anupan.
Prakriti , Agnibala( Digestion) and Vaya (Age) assessment are the prime factor behind deciding the dose.
Prawar, Awar and Madhya matra are stated considering these factors and even degree of severity of disease is taken into account.
In Abhyantar snehan karma it varies from 1 tola (12 gm) to even more than one Pala (70-80 gm).
Some Ghrita like Bindu ghrita has its classical dose in bindu (drops).- " nipeetam bindu smkhyayaa" (Sharangadhara Samhita; madhyam khanda; 9/62)
Hence it is better to follow the classical and traditional dose assessment method while working on a patient.
