We are undertaking a study on comparing the different Waste-to-Energy technologies for municipal solid waste. As part of this study, we are conducting a survey in order to elicit expert opinions for evaluating adaptation of the alternatives designed for the model.
For the purpose of this study we have identified five alternatives. By the following Google form we would like to obtain your opinion as an expert through a survey questionnaire, in which you are requested to prioritize the five alternatives with respect to different criteria.

The selection of WTE technologies depend on the waste origin, capital and operational cost, technological efficiency and complexity coupled with labor skill requirements and geographical locations of the plants. In addition, merits and demerits, technical and economical differences of each WTE technology is also considered in their selection.

there is lot of waste available in the developing countries, medical waste is the big challenges, second house hold waste, kitchen waste, agriculture waste , solid waste etc.
With all due respect, this survey will not provide the answers needed! The disposal of organic waste is generally site specific in the situation to be addressed. It is first an engineering then an economic issue. India needs a much more viable alternative to disposing of its organic waste. This survey suggests that alternatives are not on the table. EINSTEIN SAID, "DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER IS THE DEFINITION OF INSANITY" It is time to look or develop NEW alternatives as many of these technologies just do not work from an operations or economic perspective.
In short the biodegradable organic wastes should be anaerobically digested to produce biogas, the plastics and similar material can be partly recycled and balance can be put through pyrolysis to produce oil for use as fuel.
Firstly, sorting MSW as biodegradable organic wastes and others.
Secondly, the biodegradable organic wastes can be used as the material of anaerobic digestion which generates biogas.
Thirdly, the others can be used as the material of cogeneration incineration plants.

The best WTE technologies can be chosen based on your particular application, and availability of the resources, and labor skill. In addition, each technology has its own merits and demerits.

in some cases, separation of organic from non-organic waste becomes difficult. After separation, anaerobic digestion can be recommended for organic waste. since conversion of biomass to liquid diesel by gassification is still on demonstration stage. it is better to recycle non-biodegradable waste
when the waste is not separated, you can go for direct combustion or pyrolysis. depending on the situation.
