Hey guys!
I am planning to study the adsorption of organic dye molecules with different shape and size onto different nano particles. I tried to search for the shape and size of titan yellow molecules in the literature. Unfortunately I did not find that information anywhere. Could anyone please tell me how to get that information? It would be highly appreciated if someone may paste the link of the article containing such information.

This gives you all the information to work out the size and the shape of the (small ~ 0.6 nm) molecule. And the refractive index, for that matter.

What did you mean by different shape and size of same molecule, are the stable rotamers of titan yellow? Or you wanted to know the amount of adsorbed dye onto the nanoparticles surface. UV-vis technique may help you.
Thiazol yellow G (titan yellow) is a typical triazene dye. In aqueous solution, it is highly soluble and impossible to get various shape and size. This article can be helpful:

So what's this then from the url I provided? I am able to estimate a hydrodynamic radius of about 0.56 nm from these models.

Estimate the length of the molecule from the bond lengths. Assume the shape to be a cylinder (it's not, but this is only an estimate) and estimate the radius or diameter. Convert the values for length and radius into a volume of the cylinder. Compute the equivalent spherical diameter for the calculated volume. I repeat that this is just a guesstimate. Computer modeling programs will give you a better estimate. This will then give you a rough guess as to the hydrodynamic radius.
Also given the acicular shape of the material, we could surmise that the material may show nematic tendencies in solution.
My main point (again) is that with simple information such as the chemical formula, one can take a guess as to the size but also the shape (as that's a given from the structural formula). Doesn't need much thought process and we can debate each assumption at each stage....
@Alan: Thanks so much for such information. I am mainly looking for the size. For other dyes I could easily get an information about the size. Now I would use the molecular weight and more importantly the chemical structure to estimate the size of the molecule. Many thanks for ssuch discussion! Regards,Bhaskar
