Thank you, sir, for your kind reply. But that paper deals with Background concentrations and reference values for heavy metals in soils of other countries. My study area is in India. Hence not able to take those values. If there any paper regarding this, please email to [email protected]

For which matrix are you looking (soil, sediments, water?)? And what for do you need the reference values?

 I do not know if there is any literature resource on that particular area, however I can understand that those values might be important for your research. I would always ask at the local environmental agency. If they do not have any values you trust, you have to find a way to analyse those reference values by yourself. Like taking samples of the same matrix (same soil type, same sediment type). Or maybe there is an institute who has very old samples from the same matrix, you could analyse to get a reference value? Or if it is just to show the effect of a pollution source, you might take some samples upstream of this pollution source?

I am looking for sediment reference value of different heavy metals .i just want to compare the obtained value with some guideline reference values.
