I'm not really sure why you would want to. Any energy harvesting from friction, be it air, or rolling resistance, ultimately increases the friction, so it takes more energy to move in the first place! Its the equivalent of attaching a wind turbine to the roof of a car.
Conversion of heat flow to electricity. The question is whether this heat flow will be useful if we are inside the machine.
I can't agree with Phin Denby. Ali Gill wants to transform heat energy produced by air friction in electrical one without additional losses. This is possible using pyroelectric nanogenerators or so.
Sorry I revise my answer with regards to the heat generation by friction as i was rather referring to the energy harvesting from the actual movement which some have proposed.
Thermoelectric generators can be used to generate electricity from a heat gradient, but this would require the opposing side of the generator to be cooled. I would imagine the amount of energy generated in this way would be minuscule however.
