How we can calculate some parameters used in fitting the mossbauer data in Recoil?

In fitting the mossbauer data in recoil software. One has to fill some global parameters like lorentzian HWHM, centre shift, and quadropole splitting values in mm/s. From where these parameters can be calculated. Are these parameters we made on assumption. For ferrites which fitting we can use?
