In the paper of Van Wagner, 1974, as well as in Turner, 1972; are tables listing Lf (-1.6, 0.9, 3.8, 5.8....) to obtain the drought code (DC). I would like to use the DC for Portugal, but I do not know (and it is not given in any paper so far I read) how to adjust the adjusted day-length values!

Turner refers to Thornthwaite and Matter (1955), but they have only positive Lf values (which also makes more sense to me) to obtain the reference evapotranspiration.

Anyone familiar with this matter?

Thanks for taking time to think about it.
