I am preparing a solid polymer electrolyte and I am using LiTFSI as the salt. When I was weighing the salt, it almost completely stuck on the lab spatula. I dried the spatula and retried, the situation got better but still some salt stuck on the lab spoon. I am aware of moisture-absorbing nature of LiTFSI but I try to limit the contact time of salt and air into a few second because there is no glove-box available. I appreciate any recommendations.
Dry the LiTFSI and spatula before use. You could dry to use a glove-bag if available. Also you can have a dessicant around your balance to keep the area dry. This should help a bit
Dear readers, I tried to dry the LiTFSI at 60°C and under vacuum but didn't work, so I increased the temperature to 120°C (also under vacuum) for 48h. After this period the salt became yellowish-brown (like kind of brown sugar), does anyone know why please?
