I am tired of the wrong uses of "device instrument meter equipment apparatus ..etc" by the PhD students,

This is due to two reasons, the first is the language barrier. The second reason is that the PhD students read less than before.

Calling native English speakers and scientists with long experience; kindly, state your careful definitions and uses of the above and related terms that make your answer educational.

Also, Examples are highly appreciated.
