I need a help because of following problem:

The residual sludge from the secondary sedimentation tank was used to domesticate the sludge with more sulfate-reducing bacteria with the condition of 100mg/L sulfate solution. After domestication, the sludge was used to treat 100mg/L sulfate wastewater to study the treatment effect.

As a result, the sulfate concentration increased firstly from 100 mg/L to 140 mg/L and then began to decrease.

  • Is there residual sulfate in the acclimated sludge?
  • how to completely remove, and to obtain acclimated sludge without sulfate/sulfur element?

Thanks
