Tunas Manja Group operates the retail stores known as TMG Mart that provides and sells various products which are mainly the groceries and houseware goods. However, the mart is facing problems in finding the best solution for sorting process which caused the customers having a hard time finding their desired items in the mart.
You should define your Project Y, that parameter or characteristic which once improved will make the difference. Sorting is not a characteristic, it is a process. Get the results of that process, study the possible improvements you can eventually achieve, and then propose a way to implement that improvement. All above is on the DMAIC. After improvement proposal (it may be based on regression or DOE) try o extend your project on DFSS.
I think you need work in a pull system (TPS), you will neet a lot size, so you can define your takt time and apply some improvements, so, your Y shuld be the "time", once you define your lot size and takt time , you can adopt a six sigma focus....lease let me know your goal and I can help you...
