Hello!

We are experiencing an issue with our Leica VT1200 vibratome. The component that holds the blade and vibrates (highlighted in the image) stopped functioning during sectioning.

The blade is stationary, preventing proper tissue sectioning.

We’ve inspected the settings (amplitude, frequency) and checked the external connections, but the issue persists. Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Could this be due to an internal motor or mechanical failure? Would it be possible to troubleshoot this ourselves (i.e., is this a simple enough fix?), or does it require servicing by Leica?

We'd appreciate any advice/guidance!
