I am conducting a rapid review and my final search has resulted in 2 papers (one of which is the systematic review I am basing my study on). How do I summarise the systematic review findings without just repeating what the author has said? In regards to the 2 papers they found also?
The secret to successful research and review is hitting upon the main points, the points that were the foundations or will represent the way forward in your area of study.
Use IBRING: central Idea, Basic ideas related to central Idea, what is Releated to Basic ideas, Important ideas for you, New ideas, and research Goals i.e. IBRING lol.

Cara - with just two papers, it's going to be hard to present findings without essentially replicating the material you have in front of you. The best option you have is a critical summary of both papers - rather than a fuller description of both - that seeks to critically compare and contrast the findings of each against each other - and presenting the main points of 'consensus' - if that's what you might call it.

If the two papers are dealing with the same topic, then you could compare the methodology and the results of the two, and observe the methodology that better leads to the desired results are reached.
Dear Cara, I agree with Dean's worry that you will not find much new in your three papers. However, you can use them as a springboard for your own research.
How?
- Use the three papers to identify keyphrases in the field (e.g. "chronic pain services"), keyauthors etc. Search in different journals, publication houses and databases for the keyphrases and keyauthors.
- Use Google Scholar to identify other authors citing your three or more papers. (Click on "Cited by".)
- Repeat for the found papers. This is "re-search"!
