How would you structure you methodological approach? I am particularly interested in various opinions in relation to Qualitative dissertations? Also Have you ever utilised the framework of Crotty (1998) to structure this part of your thesis? can you recommend any other frameworks which are useful.

It sounds like you are at the beginning of the process. You don´t mention your area of research, although you seem to have decided to use Qualitative Methodology. The choice of methodology is based on your research question, not the desire to use one or another methodology and its associated methods and techniques. Tell us more!

Insightful answer from Andrea here Abdul. You must be at the very early stages of your research proposal. Your methodology arises from a concerted review of the literature to identify knowledge gaps - alongside what is the current state-of-affairs related to the topic in hand. From that position, your question/s emerge - and they dictate the nature of the methodology that you will choose (as Andrea has already correctly pointed out). You cannot 'cherry-pick' methodologies according to what you 'think' might work - or what you 'favour' without the necessary ground-work that commences the research process. Certainly, more detail from you would assist.
Thank you very much for your feedback. I am looking at models to structure research. Quite a few have been proposed e.g Crotty (1998) and I was wondering if there are other approaches to structuring this vital approach.
