So I've collected root exudates in 200mL CaCl2 0.2mM and immediately stored it at -20°C. Now i am about to defrost it to measure organic acids content. Can I possibly keep the some of the remaining solutions for future analysis after defrost ? Would acidifying the sample damage its content ?

There is no simple answer to your question as it is going to depend on the biological activity (if any) of the exudate and on what it is you intend to analyse (and how) in addition to organic acids. The bottom line is that you are going to have to test the stability of your analytes under your storage conditions. Do a time course study analysing fresh material and comparing the results obtained with material frozen for different periods of time and in the presence of your preservatives.

There will be no single perfect method. What ever you do, you should do consistently and avoid thawing and re-freezing samples. Break your samples up into several aliquots and use just once for your analyses.
