PFA Code (.word file and .in file)
I am trying to simulate a basic SHJ Solar Cell in ATLAS Silvaco TCAD.
I am getting this error:
Warning: Internal error in linear solver.
This situation rarely occurs in normal circumstances.
This error could indicate a ill-defined problem.
Check structure and models for possible conflicts.
Warning: Cannot trap. Cannot reduce bias
step. Choose smaller bias step size, or
check structure and or models.
I have tried to do the following so far:
1. Re-mesh to make sure the mesh is finer at junctions and interfaces
2. Make sure the no. of nodes are not more than 20000
3. Make sure there are no excess obtuse triangles in the mesh (I have zero)
4. Make sure there are no overlapping materials in the structure
5. Try to choose the appropriate 'method' of simulation.
6. Try to reduce the bias step size
Nothing seems to work and I keep getting the same error.

I think the problem is in describing the material models of the different layers of the solar cells.
As a proposal you can solve at first the single crystal silicon solar cell and change only one side to a heterojunction and then solve for this structure and then solve for the two sided heterojunction solar cells. You may also reduce the thickness of the single crystalline paper.

It was me who defined the above steps to solve such problems.
Apparently you didn't follow the procedure I explained in order. In step 5, I emphasized on the choice of solution method (mathematical solver algorithm) and solution scheme (coupled Newton or Gummel uncoupled). You'd specify a robust iterative method, with preconditioner (such as ICCG), to treat the ill-conditioned matrix of the linear system.
