Human individuals or even countries otfen demonstrate a selfish behavior, and have loss their profits comparing to the case when some commitments could be taken. That is the Prisoner's Dilemma in multiplayer case with large number or infinite repitition. Is there any mathematical analysis or model? How to build the correspondent multidimensional matrix of profits? Is there any way for commitments? How could the reasons for cooperation be implement? I'm a novice in this area and suppose these problems were solved long ago. Please point me the shortest way to dive into the problem.
Could you use a Nash equilibrium approach instead of a Prisoner's Dilemma model? PD is a rather blunt tool, especially if you are making the assumption that all "players" are rational actors -- it requires binary decision making by actors.
Thank you, Devin. Till now I have believed that Nash equilibrium is one of the feature of the game matrix and Prisoner's Dilemma is a class of games with the definite relations between the payoffs in the matrix. Please explain what do you mean by "Nash equilibrium approach" and "PD is a ...tool"?
