I am trying to do elasto-plastic analyse of a plane strain tunnel section. The model is running up to step 2 properly. Then, I am trying to propagate the model to stpe 3 (initial attempt: without any change in load conditions). However, the analysis is aborted with an error message ''Too many attempts made for this increment". But, the model is running fine with only elastic property. Even after going through many things obtained from different forums I didn't find any solution.
I am attaching the status file and message file of analysis. Kindly, help me to solve me the errors to propagate the analysis.
Any type of suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi Dipaloke, If you can afford some computational time, switch the solver, I suggest Riks method. I could not find the loading type from the file that you have attached, but if you have options between force loading vs displacement loading, displacement is more stable and a better option.

check your load/material plasticity values. Also look into the message file which node has the highest residual force

I would suggest the same as Romik. The analysis will be more stable with displacement definition instead of force definition. On other hand, you can reduce the time increment, initial time or increase the number of max attempts for Step-3. Besides, sometimes the mesh can be distorted after loading that you can check with Job Diagnostics.
