I want to know how we can simulate more than two synchronous generators in matlab simulink in order to restore the power in case of main grid failure, This is the case of using synchronous generator as distributed generation for microgrid.
I am trying to simulate 2 synchronous generators but there is machine initialization issue and I am unable to initialize those generators. In my case there 2 generators and 1 source, 1 SG should be in Bus swing mode and 1 should be in PV or PQ mode according to my study but this is not working when I want to initialize the machine using power gui it's showing error regarding modes of generators.
I need some technical help tlo resolve this issue please!
It will easier to use the latest version of the Power System Analysis Toolbox (PSAT) for your target. Alternatively, you need to study the built-in case study of isolated operation of diesel generators. You will find some other case studies with the simpowersystems toolbox

Can you share those case studies you mentioned above please as I have made my model in Matlab Simulink but facing some machine initialization issue for synchronous generators.
You are welcome. The PSAT is a matlab based separate software that can be downloaded for free. Just search for it and you will easily find it.
Recently I made my model using simpower systems (Matlab Simulink) by using some case studies as reference but when I used 2 Synchronous Generators it showed some errors regarding machine initialization tool for SM (Synchronous Machine).
Simulation
1. Initializing the machine to start in steady state
Open the powergui and select 'Machine Initialization'. A new window appears. Note that the machine 'Bus type' is set to 'Swing Bus'; this is because the circuit contains no voltage source imposing the reference angle.
" Actually I am facing this machine initialization issue in my model as per provided case study with one SM(synchronous machine) and a voltage source we must initialize it with PV or PQ in order to start the simulation in steady state and for active power and terminal voltage control. But for my model I want to use more than 2 generators for restoration purposes but when I want to initialize the machine using machine initialization tool then there is error pop up about bus type and initialization. I wanna ask how to initialize 2 SM machines for active power and voltage control?"
