Hi everyone! I really need help with this and I would appreciate if you could suggest some ideas.

So basically I am writing my dissertation on possible barriers to the implementation of digital technologies in SMEs(Small and medium enterprises) milling machines. One of the tasks that I am required to do is to design a low-cost technology that is able to predict future predictive maintenance through the use of sensor technology such as K-type thermocouple for tehmperature, vibration sensor, Acoustic emission and sound. These sensors are then connected to data acquisition system that provides real-time data which is monitored by maintenance team to check for anomalies

Now, I have a problem and I am stuck as I am required to specify what is exactly should be the threshold for those sensors before the maintenance team for this milling machine acknowledges that there is an anomaly to be able to predict then when exactly to have future maintenance?

I have looked at some specifications for milling machines such as operational maintenance manuals and others but they dont seem to have any relevancy to the context of my project.

Does anyone know how I can at all go about this? I know it is a broad question but would be great if someone can point towards a good starting point to this?
