Hi Ridhdhesh, as a rule increase the ratio of lactic acid ratio will delay the degradation of the plga and hence prolong drug release. Hope this helps

Generally, it is assumed that PLGA copolymer with the composition lactide/glycolide (Ld/Gd) 50:50 has the fastest degradation rate by hydrolysis (about one month), whereas for the copolymers with the composition Ld/Gd 75/25, the degradation time is 2-3 months. The lactic acid being more hydrophobic than glycolic acid makes lactide-rich PLGA copolymer less hydrophilic and subsequently slows down the degradation process, as it was mentioned by other RG colleagues. But we don’t know exactly the main goal and conditions for your study.

However, the specific rate of degradation is depending on copolymer ratio, molecular weight, presence of acid species or not, hydrophilicity, nature of additives, etc., by consequence, each grade of PLGA has a different rate of decomposition.
